How public holidays work
Public holiday practice combines nationwide commemorative days with religious festivals. Islamic holiday dates can shift by a day between localities depending on the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and provincial notifications. Always confirm the final gazette or employer notice before travel or payroll planning.
National holidays
Widely recognized national days include Kashmir Solidarity Day (5 February), Pakistan Day (23 March), Labour Day (1 May), Independence Day (14 August), Iqbal Day (9 November), and Quaid-e-Azam Day (25 December). Our Pakistan calendar lists these when curated for the selected year.
Religious & cultural observances
Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Ashura, and Eid Milad-un-Nabi are major observances. Until an official announcement is recorded, any dates we show for these events are labeled Estimated or Tentative — not confirmed public-holiday declarations.
Regional variations
Most listed national holidays apply nationwide. Local or provincial holidays may exist beyond this dataset; absence from our list does not prove a local holiday does not exist.
